5/11/03
Congrats to all for a wonderful semester of fencing! The past few practices have been spent practicing bouting and refining some of the newer parries and techniques. If you're reading this and haven't returned your dues, jacket and glove, boy are you in trouble -- those were due Saturday by midnight. Dues are $30, checks out to Jerzy.

W.H.A.C.K. is running a Warday event at Field Day, Friday May 16th! There will be boffers, spell packets, eeeevil project monsters, and much fun. Staff training sessions were last Wednesday and Saturday morning. We are no longer in desperate need of staff, but! We'll be building some extra weapons Monday morning, and detailing the plot Tuesday. If you'd like input, contact Jerzy or Katie and we'll keep you informed of what happens when.

Summer: Jerzy, Katie, and Ransom are known to be staying at Olin for at least some portion of the summer, and probably will devote the occasional hour to fencing. We also ought to start planning for how to run the club next year, as Ben is, sadly, leaving us for more school at MIT, which means we're out of an instructor. There has also been some tentative mention of a fencing-related Sophomore design project, so stay tuned if you're interested.

  • Wed 5PM-7PM
  • Thurs 5PM-7PM
  • Sat 10AM-12AM (student-led review, extra practice)
All practices meet on the 2nd floor of the AC near room 209. It's not nice to have Ben take his time to teach us, and be left all alone with no students, so show up.
